U.S. Congress

The U.S. Congress is the federal legislature of the United States, made up of two chambers: the Senate (100 members, two from each state) and the House of Representatives (435 members, distributed by state population). Congress creates and passes laws, declares war, sets and oversees the federal budget, confirms presidential appointments, and provides checks and balances on the executive branch.
