Dan Newhouse is a U.S. Representative from Washington state. Born in Sunnyside in 1955, he graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1973 and earned a B.S. from Washington State University in 1977. A farmer by profession, Newhouse served in the Washington state house of representatives from 2003 to 2009 and directed the state's department of agriculture from 2009 to 2013 before being elected to Congress in 2014.
