Juan Vargas is a Representative from California, born in National City on March 7, 1961. He holds degrees from the University of San Diego, Fordham University, and Harvard Law School. Before Congress, he served on the San Diego city council, California state assembly, and state senate. After multiple previous attempts, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 and continues to serve.
