Kay Granger is a U.S. Representative from Texas, born in Greenville in 1943. She graduated from Eastern Hills High School and earned a B.S. from Texas Wesleyan University. Before entering Congress in 1997, Granger worked as a teacher and business owner, and served on Fort Worth's zoning commission and city council, including a term as mayor from 1991 to 1995. She currently chairs the House Appropriations Committee.
