Kweisi Mfume is a Representative from Maryland, born in Baltimore in 1948. He graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and earned degrees from Morgan State University and Johns Hopkins University. Mfume served on the Baltimore city council and in Congress from 1987 to 1996, later becoming CEO of the NAACP. He returned to Congress in 2020 through a special election, succeeding Elijah Cummings.
