Pramila Jayapal is a Representative from Washington State. Born in Chennai, India, in 1965, she graduated from Georgetown University and earned an M.B.A. from Northwestern University. Before entering national politics, she worked as a financial analyst and nonprofit executive and served in the Washington State Senate from 2015 to 2016. She has been a member of Congress since January 2017.
