Benjamin L. Cardin

Benjamin L. Cardin is a U.S. Senator from Maryland, born in Baltimore in 1943. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Maryland School of Law, he served in the Maryland state house of delegates for two decades, including as speaker. Cardin represented Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1987 to 2007 before being elected to the Senate, where he has served since 2007.
