Charles McC. Mathias, Jr.

Charles McC. Mathias, Jr. was a Maryland lawmaker who served in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. Born in Frederick in 1922, he graduated from Haverford College and earned a law degree from the University of Maryland. During World War II, he served in the Navy and later practiced law, holding various political offices before becoming a national legislator.
