Chuck Grassley

Chuck Grassley is a long-serving U.S. Senator from Iowa, born in New Hartford in 1933. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, worked in agriculture, and served in the state legislature before being elected to Congress in 1974. Grassley transitioned to the Senate in 1980 and has been repeatedly reelected, holding significant leadership positions, including president pro tempore and chairs of several important congressional committees.
