Deb Fischer is a U.S. Senator from Nebraska who grew up in Lincoln and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in 1988. Before entering national politics, she served on the Valentine Rural High School Board of Education, worked as a rancher, and was a member of the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education. She was elected to the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature and subsequently to the U.S. Senate in 2012, winning reelection in 2018.
