Debbie Stabenow

Debbie Stabenow is a U.S. Senator from Michigan, born in Gladwin in 1950. She graduated from Clare High School and Michigan State University, earning a B.A. and M.S.W. After working as a social worker and consultant, she served in local and state government before being elected to Congress in 1996. She has been a Senator since 2001, serving multiple terms and holding leadership roles in agricultural and communications committees.
