Martin Heinrich is a U.S. Senator from New Mexico, born in Fallon, Nevada, in 1971. He earned a B.S. from the University of Missouri and attended the University of New Mexico. Before entering Congress, Heinrich worked as an engineer, business owner, and served on the Albuquerque City Council from 2003 to 2007. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2008 and later to the Senate in 2012, with re-election in 2018.
