Mike Rounds is a U.S. Senator from South Dakota, born in Huron in 1954. He earned a B.S. from South Dakota State University and worked as an insurance and real estate executive. Rounds served in the state senate from 1991 to 2000 and was governor of South Dakota from 2003 to 2011. He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 and reelected in 2020, with his current term set to end in January 2027.
