Pete Ricketts is a U.S. Senator from Nebraska. Born in Nebraska City in 1964, he graduated from Westside High School and earned degrees from the University of Chicago. He was president of an online brokerage firm, co-owned the Chicago Cubs, and served as Nebraska's governor from 2015 to 2023. Ricketts was appointed to the U.S. Senate in January 2023, filling the vacancy left by Benjamin Sasse's resignation.
