Susan M. Collins

Susan M. Collins is a U.S. Senator from Maine, born in Caribou in 1952. She graduated from St. Lawrence University and worked for Senator William S. Cohen before serving in various state and federal roles, including commissioner of Maine's Department of Professional and Financial Regulation and regional director of the Small Business Administration. Collins was first elected to the Senate in 1996 and has been reelected multiple times, serving on several important committees.
