Thomas Tillis is a U.S. Senator from North Carolina, born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1960. He earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland University College and worked as a management consultant. Tillis served on the Cornelius board of commissioners and in the North Carolina House of Representatives, where he was speaker from 2011 to 2014. He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 and reelected in 2020.
